Overview
Peninsula Health LLP is a partnership between 25 local GP practices and Assura Medical, a leading healthcare provider.
The partnership has been developed to create a GP-led provider organisation of NHS services by combining the clinical skills and expertise of the local GPs with the business and service expertise of Assura Medical. Our clinical models enable us to provide integrated care across whole pathways that deliver significant savings for commissioners and streamlined care for the patient.

Our Clinical Management Board (CMB)
The Clinical Management Board is responsible for the overall running of the partnership to ensure that the best possible service is offered within the community. The CMB also assumes responsibility for clinical governance and delivery of the business plan to the day-to-day responsibility of managing and operating the partnership.
Dr Bennet Quinn
Dr Quinn is the CMB chairman and a GP at Blackheath Medical Centre.
Dr Tom Neil
Dr Neil is a member of the board and a GP at Kings Lane Surgery.
Dr Simon Delaney
Dr Delaney is a member of the board and a GP at Parkfield Medical Centrel
Dr Sandra Olebaum
Dr Olebaum is a member of the board and a GP at Whetstone Medical Centre.

Nina Birt is the business director for Peninsula Health.
Our services
Audiology Service
Peninsula Health works in partnership with NHS Wirral as a provider for hearing aid services. Following discussion and referral from their GP, patients will be seen by the most appropriate professional to meet specific needs. The service also includes an after care service for support, batteries and repair to enable patients to build a long term relationship with their hearing care providers.

Clinical Psychology Service
The Clinical Psychology Service is an NHS service provided by Peninsula Health from a number of locations across the Wirral that are convenient for patients. Clinical psychologists are professionals required to undertake many years of specialist training.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Service
The CBT service is an NHS service that is provided by Peninsula Health from a number of locations across the Wirral that are convenient for patients. CBT aims to help patients to change the way that they think, feel and behave and is used as a treatment for various mental health and physical problems.

Joint and Soft Tissue Service – orthopaedics
This is a consultant led service with weekly clinics. The consultants working in this service will have access to refer patients for any required diagnostic services and if clinically required to refer patients to other specialists.

Joint and Soft Tissue Service – rheumatology
This is a consultant led service with weekly clinics. Peninsula Health has installed Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) terminals in the consultation rooms so that the consultants have full access to the patients’ x-rays and specialised scans such as MRI and CT scans.

Nerve Conduction Study Service
Nerve conduction studies are very helpful to diagnose certain diseases of the nerves of the body. The test is not invasive but can be slightly uncomfortable due to the electrical stimulation of nerves. It usually takes between 15 and 20 minutes and there are no side effects. This is a consultant led service with weekly clinics held at the Birkenhead Medical Building. Evening sessions are available.

Practice Based Physiotherapy Service
The practice based Physiotherapy Service provided by Peninsula Health operates from a range of GP practices in the community and is an NHS Service. The service has been developed to support patients with acute in particular and operates short waiting times to ensure timely treatment of these conditions

Practice Based Podiatry Service
The practice based podiatry service is provided by Peninsula Health and is an NHS service free to all patients registered to consortium practices. The service enables patients to see the most appropriate podiatry professional to meet their specific needs.

South Staffordshire Community Dermatology Service
The Community Dermatology Service provides consultation, advice, diagnostics and treatment from a GP with a special interest in dermatology. It is an NHS service, available free to patients and commissioned by the South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust.

Wirral Community Dermatology Service
The Wirral Community Dermatology Service provides consultation, advice, diagnostics and treatment from consultants, GPs with a specialist interest or specialist nurses. It is an NHS service, available free to patients and commissioned by NHS Wirral.

Wirral Community ENT Service
Peninsula Health’s Wirral Community ENT Service is a consultant led service with weekly clinics. The consultants working in this service are able to assess and diagnose patients using Nasendscopy to provide a one stop shop approach whenever possible.

Wirral Community Opthalmology Service
Peninsula Health provides a Community Ophthalmology Service which is led by consultants and associate specialists. The clinics are held weekly when patients can be assessed and diagnosed by our team. Where necessary minor eye procedures are performed as part of the service.
